Elche and its heritage are a real fairytale oasis among palm trees. Santa Pola and its coastline, the salt flats, the island of Tabarca on the horizon, an unexpected panoramic return.
Discovering the second capital of the Costa Blanca with its two World Heritage Sites is an essential part of a visit to these lands. The largest palm grove in Europe has marked the evolution of an ancient city like few others, where up to 7 civilisations have passed through history. The remains of the medina and its imposing basilica form part of a medieval image that has little to do with the modern city immersed in the footwear industry.
A visit to one of these factories and the possibility of buying shoes at a good price is an incentive on this excursion. Returning towards the coast we will approach Santa Pola, once the portus Ilicitanus of the Romans and nowadays a resting place for thousands of holidaymakers. Las Salinas, the flamingos, the cap de l'aljub, the island of Tabarca are part of the usual panoramic view of this fishing village.
