If you like to go out to the countryside and you are new to birdwatching, we propose an alternative, introductory route, so you can get to know the environment of the Natural Park, become familiar with the rich heritage of the orchard and traditional irrigation and enjoy watching closely and with the help of expert guides, some of the most emblematic bird species of our area in this beautiful ornithological route. For this, nothing better than a day in the countryside by bike, taking a quiet and pleasant ride that will start at the interpretation center of the Natural Park of El Hondo and end in Carrizales, a cultivated area near the park that has recently been incorporated into the ZEPA of El Hondo (Special Protection Area for Birds). Of course, the picnic lunch is a must. We will include local products to enjoy this magnificent environment with all five senses.
Our day will begin at the interpretation center, where we will meet our ornithological guide, who will accompany us throughout the route and take us to explore the most fascinating corners of the reserve.
We will begin our bike tour, pedaling along the winding trails that wind through the Carrizales, a unique ecosystem that is home to a wide variety of waterfowl and native plant species. With the help of our guide, we will observe birds such as herons, grebes, coots and many more, while enjoying the fresh air and the tranquility of the natural environment.
Along the way, we will stop at several strategic observation points, where we can enjoy panoramic views of the reserve and spot birds in their natural habitat. Our guide will share his knowledge about the local avifauna and provide us with interesting information about the species we observe.
And to recharge our batteries, we will stop at a picturesque spot to enjoy a delicious picnic or snack, where we will savor a selection of local products while we relax and share anecdotes with our fellow travelers.
At the end of the day, we will return to the starting point with a heart full of unforgettable memories and the satisfaction of having explored one of the most impressive natural environments in the region.
